James Patterson’s Children’s Books
When I said that James Patterson writes books for all ages, I meant it. Below are a few of James Patterson’s children’s books that I think you will enjoy sharing with your kiddos. Introducing books at a very young age is extremely beneficial to our children. Exposing them to books on a regular basis can encourage the love of reading and promote creativity. I started reading books to my own children before they were even born and they have been exposed to books ever since.
I started them out with those soft books for babies and moved them up to board books and picture books as toddlers. Throughout their school years, they were always reading something. You should see my library of children’s books! My kids have since grown up to be very intelligent young adults that still love to read. I take pride in the thought that I had a little something to do with that and I encourage you to start your children off early. Kids are never too young to start learning!

Big Words For Little Geniuses
This is a really fun A to Z book for the younger ones, well everyone really. James Patterson along with his wife Susan made something really special here. You can teach your little ones some crazy big words like ‘Catawampus’ in this adorable and fun picture book, illustrated by Hsinping Pan. You will learn some amazing sophisticated words that you’ve likely never heard and may possibly have difficulty pronouncing such as ‘Arachibutyrophobia’, which makes the book all that much more fun! Don’t worry, definitions along with beautiful, easy-to-remember illustrations are provided in this clever New York Times bestseller.

Give Please A Chance
A wonderful book to aid in teaching our children common courtesy. Bestselling authors Bill O’Reilly and James Patterson remind us how useful the word ‘Please’ can be and how we can use this word in so many ways. When you need help with getting dressed or you want to keep that sweet cuddly stray dog the word ‘Please’ can go a long way. Give Please A Chance is helpful and fun with old-school style illustrations by several different artists. We could use more books like this in our world today.
Give Thank You A Try
James Patterson brings us another precious book on manners. He takes young readers on a delightful search for kindness and appreciation in everyday life. Sweetly illustrated scenes from a variety of artists show children saying “thank you” for simple gifts like tickles, ice cream, and Mommy and Daddy’s love, reminding us of all we have to be grateful for. It’s just simply sweet.

This article is so cute. I already had the idea to read books to my children before they were born and then go on to turn them into reading lovers, your article supports my choice and I am happy to discover new books for little ones. I didn’t know James Patterson had made books for little ones like this. I will read them to my children! (when I have some… ahah)
Thank you for this article, I’ll wait for the next one.

My mom would read books to me before bed all of the time. It was a special time that we would spend together and I will never forget them. Reading books to your children really does increase parental bonding. With so many parents using the TV or other electronics to entertain their children, this bonding time becomes more essential than ever. Hopefully, more children will grow up with a love of books and learning!
What a wonderful post, Tracy! Thanks for putting together this awesome list. Patterson is one of those authors whose excellence really does shine across all age groups and genres! The fact that he makes it look easy is, in my opinion, a key statement as to how amazing he really is as a writer.
Introducing children to books early on in life is so, so beneficial. I come from a family of bookworms (I was reading Tolkien in elementary school), and my love for reading has taken me so many amazing places – both real and fictional. I have a three year-old daughter who shares my love of books. She’s already learning how to sound out and put together words, and it absolutely makes my heart soar! I practically exploded with pride when I asked her what she wanted for her birthday, and she said, “I want to learn how to read!” These are wonderful suggestions and I’ll definitely be checking them out.
An absolute jewel of a site Tracy. Your approach is wonderful, building a library of their own from a very young age. If one does not read, your soul is very poor! Your kids have a great advantage in life with a Mom like you.
Thank you for giving so much attention to good manners. Good manners and true values make an adult a quality person, who earns respect and trust where ever he goes.
Your summaries are so good and one feels like buying each and every book!
It was a joy to read all about books again!

Hi Tracy,
Thanks for your post. You were indeed right when you mentioned that introducing books to kids at a young age will promote their creativity and love for reading. My mom introduced books to me at a really young age, we started with the Bible and picture books since then I’ve loved reading and still do. I still love picture books. I like the list of James Patterson’s children books you compiled, he’s indeed a creative writer.
